This is the studio where we had loads of fun...

The kids are patiently waiting for their turn

to sing... They sat in the lounge and watched

the Disney Channel or played outside.

First we went through the songs to decide which to do first...

We wanted as little moving of the mics as possible...

Grandma Bunny joined us for the

morning sessions... She got a little taste of

what goes into a recording session...

Recording In Apple Valley

Friday September 4, 2009 we headed out towards

California. Here is the whole group minus Colin. As you can

see, we took along our #1 fan... Grandma Bunny.

We stopped for supper just before we got to

Apple Valley, CA. We ate at The Roadhouse.

Tommy was thrilled that he could

throw his peanut shells on the floor.

This is the apartment we stayed in, at the studio.
It was nice and roomy... Until we spread out
the beds all over the floor...
There were 9 of us crammed in here...
Grandma got a Motel room down the
road... She thought it would be too
noisy here... She was right.
Saturday morning we got up and started
warming up our voices.
Here are the guys singing,
"Softly And Tenderly"
We started recording at 11:15am and it
was a long day... Thanks to Eric Uglum he
made it as painless as possible.

Home Ec

Wednesdays are "Grandma's" day. We spend the day with her

and help her with whatever she needs done.

Since we're gone for a few hours it's hard to get school work done

so we have Home Ec on Wednesdays.

Today we made homemade cinnamon rolls.

First the kneading is done, after the dough

is mixed together...

Jacob had to get in the action...

After the kneading it was put back in the bowl
and we left for Grandma's...
When we came home we then took the dough out to
roll it out...


After it was rolled out and the good stuff sprinkled
on... They rolled it into a roll...

Then the cutting begins...

Hey Philip... Do you always cut them that thin?

Sorry... Family joke...

That's a big knife for such a little guy...

By the way... notice Tommy's hair? It is now all gone.

The finished product... YUM!

We enjoyed the cinnamon rolls after

Bible Study tonight. They are delicious!

Good job kids... You all get an A+

Tommy's Science Project

Tommy is learning about God creating

living and non-living things...

He planted some seeds on Aug. 11th

and this is what they look like today.

It is very exciting to put a seed in the soil and watch as it

grows. When that first bean popped through the

soil it was fun to watch his expression.

The kids are ready to plant a garden now.

Duke's 3rd Birthday

Today is Duke-Meister's 3rd birthday.

He got a can of Alpo...

And a haircut

He's such a good dog. He has been a good companion

for the kids... And Gerri :-)

1st Day Of School

Today was the first day of school. We all survived… Barely! 2nd grade all the way to 11th can be quite… Well… Interesting. Colin had today off so he was able to join us and start the day off with devotions. Once we get used to following a schedule again things should go much better.

What school do you know that the teacher comes to school in her pajamas? :-) Tomorrow the principal will go back to Home Depot for his other job. I hope the students survive. All kidding aside, we had a pretty good day. It should get easier once everyone gets into it.
