The Shuler Family Band is an inspiring family singing group with three generations of musicians singing a blend of bluegrass, quartet gospel, sacred hymns, country-western and cowboy music.
Paul Shuler, the grandfather of the family, began traveling and singing with his wife Bonieta in 1962. After moving to Arizona in the mid ’80s they started singing and recording with numerous groups in the Phoenix area. Paul blends smooth leads and harmonies, he plays mandolin, guitar and banjo. Bonieta (or Grandma) sings and plays bass fiddle and guitar.
Paul’s son Colin (who is an ordained minister in The Church of God) moved to Arizona with his wife Gerri and their six children in 2003. He plays guitar and saxophone and sings bass while Gerri sings clear sweet leads and harmonies.
Jacob is Colin’s oldest son and is a fantastic mandolin and guitar picker while his brother Philip is a mean bass fiddler. They each possess vibrant soulful voices and are often featured in our singings.
Lastly the three youngest Shulers—Sara, Megan and Thomas—often steal the show when they add their bright smiles and pure voices to make The Shuler Family Band a true family musical ensemble.
Love the new look of the mandolin.
ReplyDeleteHey! Our first comment... How exciting!
ReplyDeleteThe mandolin sounds good too. But it sounded good before. Hope to be able to have Jacob play it in your neck of the woods in the near future.
We look forward to hearing and seeing all of ya'll in the near future!
ReplyDeleteHey my friend and fellow Mom! :)
