Today was the first day of school. We all survived… Barely! 2nd grade all the way to 11th can be quite… Well… Interesting. Colin had today off so he was able to join us and start the day off with devotions. Once we get used to following a schedule again things should go much better.
What school do you know that the teacher comes to school in her pajamas? :-) Tomorrow the principal will go back to Home Depot for his other job. I hope the students survive. All kidding aside, we had a pretty good day. It should get easier once everyone gets into it.
This is devotions...
We are segregated, I guess..
Boys at this table...
And girls at this one. This is Sara, looking scholarly... (Wearing Jacob's glasses)
We made it through our first day with little injury... Tomorrow is another day.
The Shuler Family Band is an inspiring family singing group with three generations of musicians singing a blend of bluegrass, quartet gospel, sacred hymns, country-western and cowboy music.
Paul Shuler, the grandfather of the family, began traveling and singing with his wife Bonieta in 1962. After moving to Arizona in the mid ’80s they started singing and recording with numerous groups in the Phoenix area. Paul blends smooth leads and harmonies, he plays mandolin, guitar and banjo. Bonieta (or Grandma) sings and plays bass fiddle and guitar.
Paul’s son Colin (who is an ordained minister in The Church of God) moved to Arizona with his wife Gerri and their six children in 2003. He plays guitar and saxophone and sings bass while Gerri sings clear sweet leads and harmonies.
Jacob is Colin’s oldest son and is a fantastic mandolin and guitar picker while his brother Philip is a mean bass fiddler. They each possess vibrant soulful voices and are often featured in our singings.
Lastly the three youngest Shulers—Sara, Megan and Thomas—often steal the show when they add their bright smiles and pure voices to make The Shuler Family Band a true family musical ensemble.
Loved the pictures. Some of Philip's expressions reminded me of Darren while we were homeschooling.
ReplyDeleteHey, what's up with the old geezer in the rocker, wearing a lap blanket??? :-D
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if someone would say something about the blanket :-) Let's put it this way... I couldn't post the picture if he didn't cover his legs.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the first day went well. Good luck today too!
