So...did they raise their hands? :P (being baptist and all.) :) Great pix.
I thought I was going to meet you at the Assembly, but I see that you didn't get to go. I've seen you there, but never actually met you. Tammy Washburn
How long has Phil been playing the mandolin? You all looked fabulous and I'm sure you sound even better. I had to giggle at some of the expressions on Bonieta's face though...makes you wonder what she was looking at.
The Shuler Family Band is an inspiring family singing group with three generations of musicians singing a blend of bluegrass, quartet gospel, sacred hymns, country-western and cowboy music.
Paul Shuler, the grandfather of the family, began traveling and singing with his wife Bonieta in 1962. After moving to Arizona in the mid ’80s they started singing and recording with numerous groups in the Phoenix area. Paul blends smooth leads and harmonies, he plays mandolin, guitar and banjo. Bonieta (or Grandma) sings and plays bass fiddle and guitar.
Paul’s son Colin (who is an ordained minister in The Church of God) moved to Arizona with his wife Gerri and their six children in 2003. He plays guitar and saxophone and sings bass while Gerri sings clear sweet leads and harmonies.
Jacob is Colin’s oldest son and is a fantastic mandolin and guitar picker while his brother Philip is a mean bass fiddler. They each possess vibrant soulful voices and are often featured in our singings.
Lastly the three youngest Shulers—Sara, Megan and Thomas—often steal the show when they add their bright smiles and pure voices to make The Shuler Family Band a true family musical ensemble.

How fun! I miss those days.. :) I love and miss you all!
ReplyDeleteSchnazzy outfits! So, Philip is playing all sorts of instruments, too? You guys are amazing.
ReplyDeleteSorry we didn't get to meet at the Assembly, Sis. Tammy... Some day.
ReplyDeleteGrace, people asked about you. Papa Bob misses you... And Colonel Sanders' wife always asks about you.
Philip is working on learning new instruments along with the other kids... We'll see what happens.

ReplyDeleteI always get some good shots of Bonieta when she's singing. I guess we all make goofy faces when we're concentrating :-)
ReplyDeletePhilip has been messing with the Mandolin for a couple weeks.
