Tuesday's Activities...

Tuesday we went to Home Depot to pick up the
car so the guys could go spend the day together.
When we got there it was time for Colin's lunch break.
The guys took off in the Camry and we took
Colin to lunch. Doesn't he look thrilled?
We ate at Carl's Jr. ...Jalapeno burgers
and chili cheese fries.

The night before we had a HORRIBLE wind
storm. A lot of the trees in these parking lots
didn't survive.

Then it was off to find the Krispy Kreme store
that we heard had opened up. We drove around the area where we heard
it might be... Nothing... Then we saw a guy getting some stuff out of his car so we stopped to ask him if he knew where it was. He was no help. After chatting with him for awhile we happened to notice what was on his shirt. No wonder he was no help... He was a fitness instructor for Pure Fitness... DUH... Why would he know where the fat-filled, deep-fried goodness was? After some more driving around... WE FOUND IT!!!

Isn't it beautiful?

We were very excited.

Here is Brian... who checked us out :-)
We made him nervous.
It's a wonderful site.

I finally got my chocolate, creme filled doughnut.
No one can make them like Krispy Kreme.
Megan and here yummy doughnut.
Oh yeah...

After stuffing our faces we headed off
to the mall. We had to kill time before
we went back to pick up Colin from
work, since the boys took his ride.
Late nights and running around is wearing
the kids out...

They slept on the way home... Funny huh?

After everyone got home we cooked some Papa Murphy's
pizzas and we watched a movie. What fun! It's so good to
have everyone together again. I don't have pictures of the
guy's time out... But maybe that's a good thing.
Until tomorrow....

Monday's Activities

Paul and Grace's first day here...
Of course we had to make our first
stop at Chick-Fil-A.
While there... Everyone had to try
on Philip's glasses.

Later, for dinner, we met Grandma at Furr's.
After eating we went back to Grandma's and
had a little Christmas action. We had some gift
exchange with Grandma.

Tommy made Grace very happy by giving
her chocolate.

Here is Paul with his new
guitar strap.
Paul and Grace received a wedding photo
album from Mom and Dad.

Here is Grandma, enjoying the festivities.
So far we have had a lot of laughs and a great time.
It is good to have the kids here with us.
We have lots of fun times ahead in the
next few days.

Thanksgiving and Beyond...

Every year we start a Thankful Tree.
The first day of November we start adding
leaves with something we are thankful for.

Here is a close up of the leaves...

As you can see... The kids are
most thankful for the people in their lives.

The day before Thanksgiving the
baking begins.

The boys are in charge of making
the Pumpkin pies.

It takes a lot of muscle to make pies...
I guess.

I thought I had a picture of Jacob too,
But it somehow didn't make it on the Blog.
Here they are pouring the pumpkin into the
pie shells.

Before the Pumpkin pies went in Sara baked
her Apple pies. This is what happens when the
pies run over in the oven... The smoke alarms go
off and you have to fan the alarm until it stops screaming.

Here are Sara's Apple pies.

Thanksgiving day, while we were getting the
food prepared, the guys decided to go shoot
each other in the back yard. Boys are weird.
They ran around shooting each other with the air
soft guns. Thankfully they are not very good
aims while running around.

Sara didn't join in the shoot out...
She just looks good holding the gun.

Tommy was staying out of the way...
In the Orange Tree.
Here is Rusty and Megan...
They were safe on the porch.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving... We have so
much to be thankful for. God has been so good
to us this year. We even had Grandma Bunny with
us for Thanksgiving dinner this year. Usually
she doesn't come with us... We're too noisy for her :-)
This year we talked her into it and we really
enjoyed having her there.
The day after Thanksgiving is the day
to start decorating for Christmas.
Here are my little elf helpers.

Duke likes Christmas too.
As soon as we put the tree up he
curled up under it to go to sleep.

Who needs a ladder?
After decorating the inside we had to hang
the lights outside. You know... No where but
Arizona can you get a sun burn while
hanging Christmas lights. HA!
We love the Christmas season around here.
And tomorrow Paul and Grace will be here,
from frozen Montana. We are so excited!
We are going to have an early Christmas
with them and lots of fun is planned
while they are here.
I hope to have more pictures by the
end of next week.

What's Been Going On...

It has been a busy few weeks... Too much
to explain... So I'll sum up...
Wickenberg Bluegrass Festival Nov. 14, 2009
Jacob entered the Mandolin contest
and placed 4th.
He had a lot of fun and we enjoyed
listening. We always have fun at
the Festivals.

We sang at The Art's Academy at Estrella Mountain
on Nov. 20... This is half of the audience...

Here's the other half. We had an awkward time here.
After the third song we were asked to not sing
any more gospel songs. It was heart wrenching :-(
The kids were very sad and so were we.
The gentleman who invited us was feeling
pretty bad and apologized over and over
again. I told them we would not be back, after we
finished this engagement. God is our reason
to make a joyful noise and sing of His goodness
and His salvation. I am sad that people choose to
miss out on His blessings and promises.

Nov. 21... It was dark before 6pm
Crazy, huh? Too bad you can't see the
front of this Church, it's beautiful.
We were happy to be at Velda Rose again
this year. They are a great group.
Jacob and Philip, WOWing the crowd.

After we were done here we went out to eat
with a great friend of the family that is
attending ASU. She was able to come hear
us sing then fellowship for awhile at KFC.
By the way... Try the Buffalo Wings, they're
pretty good.
Nov. 22 we sang at Sun City Christian Church.
This Church may look familiar to some...
This is where our oldest daughter got married.
It is also where we took our picture for our latest CD.

Also, this week, Philip got his driver's permit. Third time for Mom to teach Driver's Ed. It's a crazy time... It's a nerve racking thing for a parent to teach a kid to drive. Just when you survive one there is another one waiting for their turn. In our case, we have three more to teach, after Philip. Please pray for us :-)
These were the highlights of the past few weeks... There were the normal things that go on along with all the fun stuff... School, Church, work, etc... We are enjoying this time of year. THIS is why we live in AZ... FANTASTIC winters... Ahhhh, the good life.
